Mestre Leopoldina 1933-2007
On October 17, 2007, Capoeira lost one of it's most esteemed and treasured Mestres - Mestre Leopoldina. He passed away at 4:30pm today in the city of São José dos Campos.

We received word via email this morning from Jorge itapua Beiramar and we were greatly saddened by the news. The capoeira world will miss him greatly.

Another Mestre is gone, another Mestre I wish I had the chance to have met.
I know he will be in a better place, playing with the Mestres who left before him.
