Planet Capoeira Magazine
Since 1999, Planet Capoeira has been a premier resource for fans and practitioners of Capoeira on the internet. In the winter of 2003 we published the first issue of Planet Capoeira Magazine. Within in six months we published our second issue. After a brief period of reconstruction, Planet Capoeira returns to the web with a much imporved website, with expanded festures for visitors and subscribers alike, and will see it's third issue published in the fall of 2005.
Planet Capoeira seeks to maintain the independent nature and integrity of the Capoeira culture at all levels, provide readers with a broad, accurate, and knowledgeable view of the artform, and develop a magazine with excellence in photography, writing, and design. We hope we can provide a platform and a voice, online and in print, for the contemporary practitioners of the art, whom we are priveleged to count ourselves among, to express the many views, practices and emotions about the art. It is an art easy to fall in love with, and hard to give up, and impossible to forget.
We never thought publishing this magazine would be easy, and it was far harder than we could imagine, but we know the journey is well worth it despite many setbacks - professional and personal that have arisen. As we move forward we hope to do Capoeira proud.
