Born and raised in the New York City suburbs, I discovered capoeira by reading a magazine article about it in 1994 in Details magazine. It took me a year to track down a class,
but tracked one down I did. I started training with Mestre Bom Jesus in the late autumn of 1995, and was hooked.
I started the whole Planet Capoeira experience in 1999 when I was frustrated by the lack of information about how capoeira was being played, changed, lived
and loved by contemporary players of all styles, stripes and nationalities.

I've been training capoeira for 3 years under the
Bantus Capoeira school and have helped set up the Bantus academy in
Malaysia. I started training Capoeira with Professor Gringo when I was still in
Perth, Australia and just fell in love with the art. During the day,
I'm a programmer building and maintaining e-learning and user
management systems for schools and educational institutions. At night,
I'm brutal psycho drill seargeant for the beginners at our academia. I
live by the ninja code "if it's not fun to do, then it ain't worth doing".

I am a mother of a beautiful 9 year old capoerista. I have been
doing capoeira for 3 years and enjoy it more every day. I was
born in Mexico, raised in California and now reside in Texas. I
am a capoeira student with
Capuraginga and take instruction under the direction of
Instructor Leao in Houston, TX. I just had my second Batizado
and my daughter her first. It was an amazing experience and we
both look forward to the next one. Outside of capoeira I enjoy
listening to different kinds of music, my focus right now seems
to be Brazilian music (pagode, Axe, Samba) as I am trying to
learn Portuguese and it makes it alot easier. favorite things
include....my Bob Marley cd's, pizza, gatorade for the workouts
and Pepsi when Im just thirsty.
